About

Hi, my name is Aaron Benelli. I write science fiction and fantasy, and a bit of memoir when it’s absolutely unavoidable.

On this website you can see my works, ye mighty, but do not despair. There’s a specific message that I’m trying to convey, a specific hopeful view that I’d like to share, and in order to see it together we’ll have to go low before we come back up again.

If you’d prefer something lighter, maybe check out my YouTube channel, where I analyze media under the pseudonym Noam.

Also, you can now download everything in your favorite ebook format.

What should you read?

Fiction: If you’re unfamiliar with my work, I suggest starting with In The Pits, a light-hearted-horror novella, or Idolatry, a collection of shortish stories. Lastly, if you’re familiar with my work and like the way I do things, you might enjoy my full length novel, Last Day Town.

Non-fiction: I’m Fine, All Things Considered is a ground level description of the events that took place in Israel on October, 2023, from the perspective of an Israeli (me) returning to Israel after long stay in Canada.

If you don’t know which of these are for you, you can keep scrolling down and see what catches your eye.

CONTENT WARNING: I never shock for the sake of shocking, but – to paraphrase one of the greatest writers of our age – readers looking for content warnings should probably give this website a pass.

IDOLATRY

Five short-ish stories about death, the savagery of desire, and the process of abandoning one god for another.

IN THE PITS

A ~150 page horror novella, which follows a soldier/excavator as she descends underground to dig for Crystal to fuel the war effort, while the magical mineral mutates her body and soul.

I’M FINE, ALL THINGS CONSIDERED

A non-fictional description of my visit to Israel on the October, 2023. It’s a composition of almost-interviews with ordinary people—combat soldiers on leave, teachers, fighter pilots, scientists, juice stand vendors, and some guy who threatened to kill me on the street because he thought I looked Arabic.

LAST DAY TOWN

A full length science fiction/suspense novel.

Once every two hours a person is thrown out of the pressurized habitat of Ceres into the vacuum of space. Journalists, dissidents, and ordinary criminals are all surprised to be given a functioning space suit and twenty four hours of oxygen before getting “airlocked” into a dark crater.

Hilarity ensues.
